What are Metric Phillips Pan Head Sealing Screws?

In contrast to standard Phillips Pan Head Screws, this self sealing variant is fitted with a uniquely engineered groove under the head. This allows for a captive rubber O-Ring to be pre-fitted, creating a tighter seal compared to using a separate O Ring, and benefitting from metal-to-metal contact with the housing material when installed.

Designed to form a 360° seal when fastened, preventing leakage or damage as a result of contaminants, this highly specialised type of fastener is fitted with the common Phillips Drive for simple and effective installation.

The air-tight hermetic seal provided by these Phillips Pan Head Self Seal Screws has been trusted by the military and defense industries for over 25 years, meeting Military Specifications MS3212 / 3213 and NASM82496. Self Seal Screws are designed to maintain optimum performance in machinery, even under extreme pressures and temperature conditions, and are pressure-resistant to 1,500 psi.

Metric Phillips Pan Sealing Screws are supplied in A2 Stainless Steel as standard. O Ring Materials for this range include Buna, Fluorosilicone and Viton (Fluorocarbon). These Stainless Steel Sealing Screws can also be purchased with our AccuLock specialist patches for increased resistance to self loosening as a result of harsh vibrations.
