Captive Washers are a type of retaining fastener designed to be used in conjunction with Accu's Captive Screws to provide a permanent hold within an assembly.

Accu’s Captive Washers are designed by Accu and feature a specialised internal thread, allowing them to be fastened onto a Captive Screw for a more secure fastening solution.

The washer is compressed during assembly to lock into place on the Captive Screw. This prevents the screw from coming loose and secures the components onto the panel.

The combination of Captive Screws and Captive Washers forms a cost effective locking solution for safety applications.

As this is intended to be a permanent fastening, Captive Washers are not designed for reuse after compression.

EU Machine Directive 2006/42/EC Compliance

Captive Washers can be used to create captive fastenings, which are often required to be fitted on equipment such as safety guards for compliance with EU Machine Directive 2006/42/EC.
