This high-tech Torx Security Countersunk Self Sealing Screw, produced by US based company ZAGO, is designed to prevent internal and external leakages in machinery and devices following its installation. Protecting against aggressive substances, even under extreme temperatures and pressures, these Sealing Fasteners are manufactured to meet Military Standard NASM 82496 and are pressure resistant to 1500 psi.
The Countersunk head of this screw makes this fastener suitable to be installed into a countersunk hole, leaving a finish that is flush with the surface of the mating panel. The resilient captive O-Ring that is fitted within the groove on the underside of the screw head creates a hermetic seal, preventing hazardous substances and contaminants from leaking in or out.
This 360° seal is achieved as a result of the rubber O-Ring squeezing outward as the sealing fastener is tightened into place. For optimal performance, the use of a clearance hole is recommended to allow the O-Ring to reshape itself within this gap. This helps to prevent extrusion into the mating surface when the fastener is under pressure.
Similarly to our regular Security Torx Countersunk Screws, this Sealing Screw variant is fastened using a Torx Security Drive (6 Lobe Pin), with the central pin offering increased tamper resistance over the standard 6 Lobe Drive. As a result, this screw is also capable of accepting higher torque transmission than more traditional drive types, such as Phillips and Slotted Drives, and offers increased resistance to cam-out during installation.
