What is the Access to Work Mental Health Support Service?

The Access to Work Mental Health Support Service is a government-funded programme designed to provide personalised mental health support to employees. The service aims to address workplace-related stress, anxiety, and other challenges that might impact an individual’s wellbeing.

At Accu, we have integrated this programme into our Employee Experience framework, ensuring all staff members, including part-timers, bank workers, and contractors, have access to this invaluable resource.

Key Features of the Service Include:

  • 9-Months of Mental Health Coaching Support: Funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the programme is cost-free for individuals and the business.

  • No Waiting List: Employees can access support within 30 days of referral.

  • 24/7 Access to the Wellbeing Platform "ELE": A comprehensive resource hub for ongoing mental health support.

  • Neurodiversity Tools: Available where appropriate to cater to individual needs.

  • Personalised 1-on-1 Support: Tailored coaching sessions with qualified mental health professionals.

  • Confidentiality: The service ensures complete privacy for employees seeking support.

How It Works

The programme focuses on empowering employees with the skills to manage mental health challenges in the workplace and beyond. While it is not designed as long-term therapy for external factors, it is highly effective for addressing workplace-related concerns such as relationship management, stress, and anxiety.

Employees can self-refer via email or phone, with no hidden costs or commitments. The streamlined referral process ensures timely access to support, removing barriers that might discourage individuals from seeking help.

To make it even easier, everyone is offered a free 1-hour consultation with the Health 2 Employment team in a safe, supportive space. This session allows individuals to learn more about the service and explore their options before committing.
