Introducing Accu Quick Order: How To Use It

“Accu’s new Quick Order feature streamlines how engineers, buyers and makers plan and purchase components.”

Patrick Faulkner

Lead Engineer

Now rolled out to every Accu account holder, Accu’s new Quick Order redefines how engineers, buyers and makers plan and purchase precision components

Quick Order lets you create unique, named BOM (bill of materials) Projects in your account, populate them with any mix of Accu components and set custom quantities. When you’re ready, add the entire Project to your basket in one click. Projects stay saved in your account, so re-ordering the exact same build is just as simple next time.

The game changer? You can share your projects with anyone with a single, shareable URL.

Fast Handoffs With a Single Shareable Link.

As we’ve touched upon, we think Quick Order is an amazing feature that turns your parts list into a shareable Project. You can capture the components and quantities once, then pass a single link to anyone who might need it.

They’ll see the exact list of components and quantity you set, can buy it in one step, and, if useful, keep their own copy for future purchases.

Here are some examples:

  • Engineering & Purchasing: Instead of exporting a BOM spreadsheet and answering follow-up questions from the purchasing department, just share your Quick Order link. Purchasing gets the exact components and quantities for that one build, ready to add to basket and checkout with their own account. Clean handover. Fewer errors.

  • Prototypers & 3D printers: Hosting STLs on sites like printables.com? Drop your Quick Order link in the description. Users can download your STL files and, most importantly, buy all the fasteners needed to assemble the project, without guessing sizes or quantities.

Quick Order brings clarity, speed and repeatability to component purchasing, whether you’re scaling production or sharing a weekend build with the world.

Go give it a try!

FAQs

Q: Who can use Quick Order?

A: Quick Order has been rolled out to every Accu account holder. Just head to your account area and you’ll see the new “Quick Order Projects” section.

Q: Can I share a Project outside my organisation?

A: Yes. Each Project has a shareable URL with no restrictions. Recipients can add the whole list to their basket in one click and, if they wish, save the Project to their own Accu account.

Q: Can I change quantities before checkout?

A: Yes, you can edit the quantities of components once they have been added to basket; however, this will not be reflected in your Project. We recommend emptying your basket and re-adding your Project should you need to change overall quantities. However, if you only need certain parts of your Project, you can simply remove them from your basket as you check out.

Q: If I update my Project, will that update for others?

A: No, your project is unique to your account and URL. When you share your Project and users save it to their account, it creates a new, unique Project in their account. To allow others to update their Project, you shouldn’t need to update your link, but you will need to notify stakeholders to remove the old Project in their account and re-save the newest version.

Q: What happens if I need the same build again?

A: Open your Quick Order Project and click add to basket again. It’s designed for fast, error-free repeat orders.

Q: Is Quick Order suitable for 3D printing projects?

A: Absolutely, it was a driving factor in the development of the tool. Include your Quick Order link alongside your STL files so users can buy the exact fasteners needed to complete the print.

Q: Can multiple people keep their own version of a Project?

A: Yes. Anyone with the link can save the Project to their account and maintain their own copy for future use. However, any updates you make to your Project will not be pushed to their version; they’ll need to re-save the new version.
