What are Lifting Rings?

Lifting Rings, sometimes referred to as lifting eyes are designed to be used to lift or lower a load. For example, a lifting ring can be used in conjunction with a hoist to move equipment down the side of a building to lower it to the floor. Sometimes lifting rings can be used in rigging applications such as the temporary suspension of audio visual equipment in a concert hall.
