What are Pins?
Pins include a broad selection of unthreaded fastening, locating and locking components.
Dowel Pins.
Dowel Pins are machined to highly precise diametric tolerances and are primarily designed for locating and positioning. Components within this range include DIN 7 and ANSI B18.8.2 Dowel Pins, and ISO 2338a Dowel Pins.
Split Spring Pins and Spiral Roll Pins.
Slotted Spring Pins and Spiral Roll Pins are characterised by their flexible design and variable diameter. These components are designed to function as self-retaining fasteners which match the diameter of a pilot hole.
Grooved Pins.
Grooved Pins are designed to fit tightly within a pilot bore, and feature a swaged groove to increase vibration resistance and grip strength. The groove along these components allows material from the target housing to cold flow into the vacant space, creating a secure, vibration resistant fastening when installed into a tight hole. Full Length and Half Length Taper Grooved Pins, as well as Full Length Parallel Grooved Pins are available.
