What are Metric Slotted Pan Head Sealing Screws?

Unlike a standard Slotted Pan Head Screw, this self sealing alternative features a captive O-Ring that is pre-fitted into a groove, uniquely engineered under the screw head. When installed within the housing material, this allows for a tighter seal compared to using an O Ring separately, with the metal-to-metal contact of the screw head and surface ensuring that the 360° seal remains uncompromised even under high pressure.

This hermetic seal is designed to prevent contaminants, such as oil, water and dust, from seeping into the machinery and causing damage. Although this is a highly specialised fastener, installation is simple, requiring only a standard Slotted Screwdriver (Flat Head).

Pressure-resistant to 1,500 psi, these air-tight sealing screws have been trusted by the military and defense industries for over 25 years. Manufactured in the USA by ZAGO to Military Specifications MS3212 / 3213 and NASM82496, Slotted Pan Head Self Seal Screws are designed to maintain optimum performance, even when subjected to extreme pressures and temperature conditions.

Accu is able to supply Self Sealing Screws with 3 different O-Ring material options as standard. These screws can also be supplied in a range of head and drive types, with alternative Screw and O-Ring materials available on request.

Materials

This range of screws is manufactured from A2 Stainless Steel as standard. O Ring Materials for these Slotted Self Sealing Pan Screws include Buna, Fluorosilicone and Viton (Fluorocarbon).

For applications where increased resistance to self-loosening is required, our Stainless Steel Sealing Screws can also be supplied with a specialist thread locking patch.

Manufactured in accordance with the DIN 85A standard, Accu’s range of Metric Slotted Pan Head Sealing Screws are available in M3 to M6 thread sizes, with lengths from 4mm to 16mm.
