Grommets.
What are Grommets?
Grommets, typically shaped like a ring or a strip, are designed to be inserted into pre punched or threaded holes.
Ring shaped Grommets are commonly used to protect cables and wires from the raw edges of panels or sheet metal. Acting as a buffer, the Grommet will snap into the hole creating a safe passage.
Another great use for Grommets is that they can offer resistance to harsh vibrations and also prevent the ingress of dust and other foreign bodies.
For assemblies which may be at risk from water ingress, Sealing Grommets provide a watertight seal making them ideal for use in applications which include electronics.
Some Grommets can be used as plastic push-in fasteners, joining together two panels as an alternative to metal fasteners.
