What are Blind Dome Rivets?

Blind Rivets, also known as Dome Rivets or Pop Rivets, are a type of unthreaded fastener primarily used to join together 2 or more panels in applications where there is limited or no access to the rear side of the panels.

Blind Rivets are composed of 2 core pieces; a rivet body and a mandrel. Using a riveting tool, the mandrel is designed to be pulled, before eventually snapping off and being discarded. This action results in building pressure which causes the rivet body to be compressed in length, expanding its diameter to create a secure fastening of the joint.

Pop Rivets are typically used in Aerospace, Automotive and Electronics industries, amongst many others.

Materials

Pop Rivets are available in a range of materials, including Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum and Copper. RAL9005 Black and RAL9016 Brilliant White finishes are available on Accu's Aluminum Rivets.
