What are Flanged Blind Rivets?

Flanged Blind Rivets, also called Large Flange Pop Rivets, are unthreaded fasteners primarily used to permanently secure 2 or more panels together. The larger flange ensures greater bearing surface and can reduce the total number of rivets required within the assembly.

As fasteners designed for ‘blind’ installation, these components are particularly useful for applications where there is limited or no access to the rear side of the assembly.

Flanged Blind Rivets are composed of 2 core pieces; a rivet body and a mandrel. Using a riveting tool such as a Rivet Gun, the mandrel is pulled before eventually snapping off and being discarded. This action results in the rivet body being compressed in length whilst expanding its diameter to create a secure fastening.
